Turquie

During a filming for the show “mise au point” “we were in Istanbul to cover the first trial in Turkey including the police for the murder of a journalist.

At the last minute the trial was moved to a city 600 miles outside the country.

We found ourselves traveling on a PKK bus and when we arrived in town there was an armed soldier every 10m on both sides of the road.

The trial room had a balcony above the judges. Soldiers pointed their rifles at the crowd and we followed the proceedings until the conviction of the police officers responsible.

As we passed through Turkish customs on our way back, the cameraman was worried about getting arrested and having to show the footage we shot. From the beginning of the trip, the journalist and the cameraman took turns making jokes at each other.

As we were about to sit on the plane, the reporter gave me an eye poke.

Moments later, the flight attendant stopped in front of the cameraman and said, “Mister Jordan can you follow us please?” I saw poor Mickey turn white with shock then a few seconds later he turned furiously towards the journalist who was dying of laughter.

Nice nod to Midnight express
